President Trump Gives WinRed Its Name

WinRed is officially launched, offering a digital fundraising platform designed to serve as the GOP’s counterpart to ActBlue.

The name “WinRed” emerged directly from the influence of President Donald Trump, who suggested the name to emphasize a brand that was simple, memorable, and tied to the Republican Party’s traditional color, red. According to Politico:

“During a meeting with political aides in the White House earlier this year, the president proposed ‘ActRed.’ He also came up with another suggestion: “WinRed’ That one stuck. While Democrats act, Trump told his team, Republicans win.”

President Trump’s campaign and the national party committees have already begun phasing their online operations over to WinRed. According to Trump Campaign Manager Brad Parscale:

“The Trump campaign will be the most innovative Presidential campaign in American history, and WinRed is a critical component of our strategy. Trump supporters are the most enthusiastic in American politics, and with WinRed, we will have the cutting-edge technology needed to translate grassroots enthusiasm into the resources we need to win in 2020.”

Working together with GOP candidates up and down the ballot, WinRed represents a game-changer for turning grassroots enthusiasm into online fundraising and then into votes. It is, therefore, a key component of a winning strategy for 2020 and elections to come.

Campaigns can sign up for WinRed at winred.com starting now and will be onboarded on a rolling basis beginning this week.
